B major has 5 ♯ (F#, C#, G#, D#, A#) in its key signature.

The B major scale is: B C# D# E F# G# A# B.

The diatonic chords are B (I), C#m (ii), D#m (iii), E (IV), F# (V), G#m (vi) and A#dim (vii°). The main functions are B (tonic), E (subdominant) and F# (dominant).

The relative minor is G# minor. In the circle of fifths, E major (a fifth lower) and F# major (a fifth higher) sit right next to B major.

B major has five sharps. On the piano it is considered comfortable to play because of the layout of the black keys. Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9 No. 3 is in B major.
